Amazing Grace

So I officially loved The September Issue. I thought is was visually striking, great music, and, at times, quite funny. The absolute best part of the whole film, hands down, was Grace Coddington. She is a genius. And ridiculously hard-working. I want to be Grace Coddington when I grow up.

And yes, I know this isn't the Grace Coddington, but that spread was highly amusing to me. Plus, the kitties were cute.

A Good Man

Oh Jimmy Stewart. Everyone in my family loves Jimmy Stewart. The women think he's handsome and the men admire him. Not only was he one of the best actors in his lifetime (in my book, ever), he was also a deeply admirable man. He was the definition of class. Plus, he looked really nice in a tuxedo.

Yes, I read celebrity gossip blogs. No, I do not read the trashy ones. I was on one of my favorite blogs today when I came across this shot of Angelina Jolie in Paris. Now, this is how you dress, kids. Great color palette, good use of gold jewelry with neutral shades, and excellent tailoring. C'est magnifique!

I loathe this silly time of year known as Awards Season. Year after year a barrage of badly dressed celebrities parade down tacky red carpets for the so-called enjoyment of the world. I wish there were still movie stars. At least Grace Kelly knew how to dress for these types of things.

I love Oscar de la Renta. Not only is he the cutest man possibly ever, his clothes are painfully beautiful. His Fall 2010 collection definitely did not disappoint. I wish I could post the entire show on the blog. I highly recommend going through the whole show.

Here's one of my favorite couples of all time. Man, the chemistry between those two was off the charts for the 1996 version. And all we got was one measly kiss. Oh well! I hope everyone was ridiculously lovey dovey with their significant other today. Or, if you are happily single, ate a bunch of chocolate and watched romantic movies.

It's Complicated

My sister and I were griping the other day about Facebook relationship statuses. I think that when people put "It's Complicated" that it's ridiculous and stupid and ridiculously stupid. So, as a joke, I decided to put "It's Complicated with Cary Grant." Then every few days I would change it to "It's Complicated with Jimmy Stewart" or "It's Complicated with Paul Newman." But alas, you can only be complicated with people on Facebook and thus my great plan failed. Who would you like to be "Complicated" with?

Oh Those Blue Eyes

Even though I'm still insanely jealous of her, Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman were a really great couple. They were married for over fifty years but it was obvious they were in love the whole time. I have to admit, it wouldn't be that hard to be married to Paul Newman for have a century.

I love Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. They were so perfect for each other. They drove each other crazy in good and bad ways. Regardless, they are one of my favorite Hollywood couples of all time.
